Art for Athletes
A benefit for the Park City Nordic Ski Club will be held this Friday, July 20 at St. Mary’s Church from 6 to 10 p.m. at S.R. 224 Park City, Utah. There will be a live and silent auction, free giveaways throughout the evening. Tickets are $50 and include hors d’oeuvres, libations and chances to win donated art pieces in all mediums. Spiro Arts will begin life drawing/painting sessions
Beginning Thursday, July 19, Spiro Arts will be hosting free Life Drawing/Painting sessions at 6 p.m. weekly. Easels, tables, drawing boards, and refreshments will be provided. Participants 18 years and older will be expected to bring their own art supplies and donations will be accepted for model fees. Life Drawing is part of Spiro Arts Summer Open Studio series. There is no instructor–all open studio evenings are offered as an opportunity for independent study. Spiro Arts is located at Silver Star on Three Kings Drive.
Zoom welcomes Bluebird Café
Nashville’s legendary venue, the Bluebird Café, will bring its country acts to the mountains, at Sundance Resort and at Zoom Restaurant in Park City, beginning on Thursday, July 19.
Tickets to Thursday’s event are $80 and include a meal and performances by Texas-raised songwriter Georgia Middleman, Grammy-nominated producer and singer Tony Haselden, and singer/songwriter Allen Shamblin.

Jewel and the symphony
Pop singer Jewel will play with Utah Symphony for the first concert of this summer’s Utah Symphony and Opera’s Deer Valley Music Festival tonight. Outdoor film fest features "Kinky Boots"
The Sundance Institute’s Outdoor Film Festival at City Park will show "Kinky Boots" at 9 p.m. this Friday, July 20, "Kinky Boots" tells the story of Charles Price and his unique business strategy to revive his family shoe business: men’s fetish footwear for drag queens. The film was nominated for a golden globe award in 2007. City Park is located at 1325 Park Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Arts camp slots still available.
Arts-Kids summer camps still have slots available for their summer camps. Camp ArtVenture, for children ages 8 to 12 begins on Monday, July 30. Park City School District contracts for AI gun detection service
Park City School District will pay $546,000 over the next five years for ZeroEyes, a software company that uses artificial intelligence to detect brandished firearms, to monitor 650 cameras in all 12 schools.
