PCHS girls’ basketball team wins state qualifier

Led by a balanced attack, the Park City High girls’ basketball team handily beat American Leadership Academy 49-35 on Wednesday evening, Feb. 17, in a play-in qualifying game for the 3A state tournament.
"The girls have improved tremendously this season and they really showed it tonight," said head coach Sam White. "They showed composure and the ability to step up and finish in a big game. Offensively, this is the best we’ve played all season. Everyone was looking to score."
The balanced offensive assault was led by 5’9" junior Laurel Kasel with 21 points, junior Abbey Cohen with 11, freshman Carson Lyman with 9, and sophomore Bailey Tibbitts with 6 points. The 3A state tournament began Friday, Feb. 19, as the Miners traveled to Canyon View High School for the first round. Results were not available at press time.
