PCHS girls’ lacrosse reaches semifinals

The Miners’ girls’ lacrosse team rolled its recent momentum into a state quarterfinal matchup against Bingham on Thursday afternoon at Dozier Field.

Park City edged the visitors in dramatic fashion, winning 11-10 in the second half of overtime on a goal from senior Traci Shurtleff, who was recently named an All-American for the second consecutive year. Shurtleff tallied four goals, while junior Meghan Kellner and senior Mary Hardesty also scored.

Senior Dacia Morgan, a first-team all-state selection, made a number of saves to keep the Miners alive.

PCHS moves on to the semifinals, where it will play Alta at 7 p.m. at Juan Diego Stadium. Alta, the No. 1 seed out of the South region, won its quarterfinal game 21-3 over Skyline.
