PCMR presents premiere of ‘City. Park City.’
Today, Oct. 4, Park City Mountain Resort will present the world premiere of "City. Park City.," a film by Jim Mangan with the opening scene and introduction directed by Whitey McConnaughy. The film will be shown on a large outdoor screen on the Town Lift Plaza. This is the first all-resort 16 mm film and features many of the Park City All-Stars including Shaun White, Jeremy Jones, Marc Frank Montoya and Erin Comstock.
"I am extremely proud and honored to premiere ‘City. Park City.’ in the town of Park City.," said Mangan, director of action sports marketing for Park City Mountain Resort and producer and co-director of "City. Park City." "It not only showcases Park City Mountain Resort and the Park City All-Stars but the amazing town of Park City. Wow, that’s a mouth full of Park City!"
Mangan makes his directing debut with "City. Park City." He has been the director of action sports marketing at Park City Mountain Resort since the 2002-2003 season and has been instrumental in helping the resort secure the coveted ranking of "Terrain Park of the Year" by the readers’ of Transworld Snowboarding magazine for the last three years in a row, a feat no other resort has achieved.
McConnaughy has a wide array of experience in the film industry.
He has directed numerous commercials, including ones for Nike and Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and is a legendary filmmaker in the snowboard industry. His snowboard films include "Back in Black," "Brainstorm" and "Revival."
The World Premiere of the film will begin at 8 p.m. Admission to the premiere is free. An autograph session with Park City All-Stars, including White, and athletes from the movie will be held from
7-8 p.m. A question and answer with Mangan and several of the riders including White, Montoya, Aaron Bitner, and Scotty Arnold will take place directly after the premiere.
At 9 p.m. Misschief Films will present their new movie, "RoShamBo." Several prizes will also be given away including an autographed Shaun White snowboard, Park City Mountain Resort season passes and gear from DC, Quiksilver, Roxy and Burton.
In addition, a press conference will be held at 2 p.m. on the second floor of the Legacy Lodge. Mangan, White and other athletes from the film will be in attendance. A light lunch will be available at 1 p.m. Please contact Krista Parry at 647-5414 or firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
