PCSD searches for new business administrator

Megan Yeiter , The Park Record

Park City School District Business administrator Patty Murphy is no longer working at the school district. A national search is being conducted through April 6, to fill the position, said Park City School District Superintendent Ray Timothy, adding that they hope to have a new business administrator by the end of April.

After six years of employment, Murphy’s contract was scheduled to end in June. Timothy, the school board chose not to renew Murphy’s contract and to move in another direction. At that point Murphy decided to leave right away.

"At this time it’s an opportunity for her to go out and pursue other opportunities," Timothy said, adding that two employees are hired by the school board: the business administrator and superintendent.

The school board appointed Patrick Ogden, PCSD Finance and Information Specialist, to fill the position temporarily. Ogden has previous experience as the business administrator at the State Office of Education.

"He comes with some great education financial background and spent time at the state office working at that level," he said.

A screening committee will go through all the applicants and that will include some board members and members of the community and district employees," he said. "They will take recommendations to the board and they (the board) will review finalists and make a decision."
