Pearce was under the care of neurointensivist Holly Ledyard. Ledyard said in a press release that she is extremely proud of Pearce and his fight through the first steps of his recovery since being admitted Dec. 31. Ledyard said he is able to walk and do many daily activities with some assistance.

According to the press release, Craig Hospital is a leading medical center for those suffering from traumatic brain injuries.

On Feb. 2, pro snowboarder Danny Davis was released from Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City following two surgeries after being injured in an ATV accident. Davis will stay in Utah to participate in rehabilitation, according to his Facebook page, "Danny Davis Pro Snowboarder."
