Bicyclists seen poaching in the off-limits skateboard park

Bicyclists were reported on the City Park skateboard park last week, an occasional problem for the Park City Police Department.

On Saturday, June 16 at 9:46 a.m., two people on bikes were reported in the park. Later that day, at 4:46 p.m., the police told two people on bicycles to leave.

Meanwhile, on Monday, June 11 at 3:03 p.m., four or five bicyclists were found in the skateboard park. They were warned.

Bicyclists are not allowed in the skateboard park but there has been ongoing reports of them trespassing.

Park City last week was packed with bicyclists competing in mountain-bike competitions at Deer Valley Resort.

Another bicycle case occurred on Saturday, June 16 at 10:49 p.m., someone reported a bicycle accident on the 1500 block of Empire Avenue. Shortly after, at 10:55 p.m., a bicycle accident occurred on the 7000 block of Kearns Boulevard, someone told the police.

Other incidents reported to the Police Department last week included:

On Sunday, June 17 at 7:46 p.m., the police received a complaint that someone broke into a car on Thaynes Canyon Drive. The police say the person broke a passenger side window and stole a purse that was inside. The case involves more than $200 in damage and losses, the police say.

At 4:32 p.m., a woman reportedly fell near a ski lift at Park City Mountain Resort. The police say the woman did not exit the lift correctly and a chair struck her. She complained of neck and back pain, according to the police.

At 9:04 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, a house was reportedly toilet-papered on the 2700 block of Creek Court.

At 3:32 p.m., jewelry and other items were reported stolen from a house on Saddle View Way. Public police logs do not provide details.

Police officers were summoned to the 1500 block of Lakeside Court at 1:39 p.m., where people were reportedly shooting pellet guns. The person said to be firing the gun left, but the police say officers found and warned his friends.

At 4:47 p.m., the police received a complaint that it appeared someone shot a BB at a window on the 1900 block of Cooke Drive.

The police received a complaint at 4:20 p.m. that about $250 worth of beer was swiped from a storage unit. It was on the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue.

On Friday, June 15 at 10:41 p.m., an officer gave someone a ticket on a charge of urinating in public.

The officers warned the person against having an open container of alcohol. The police found the person at the Swede Alley-5th Street intersection.

Kids were reportedly chasing a moose at 9:36 p.m. on the 1700 block of Kearns Boulevard, near Lucky John Drive. The kids and the animal were gone when an officer arrived.

An officer wrote a driver a ticket on a count of failing to yield to a pedestrian, who was reportedly in a crosswalk. The police stopped the driver at 7:09 p.m. on the 1500 block of Lowell Avenue.

A moose was spotted running on S.R. 248 at 6:26 p.m. but police officers were unable to locate the animal.

At 11:12 a.m., the police received a complaint someone was shooting nails on the road on the 1800 block of Three Kings Drive.

On Thursday, June 14 at 2:19 p.m., the police received a complaint someone stole a wallet from a hotel room on the 1200 block of Empire Avenue. The police say the case involves more than $200.

On Wednesday, June 13 at 10:23 p.m., a fire was reported on Victoria Circle. The police say it was at the spot of a water heater and sprinklers put the fire out.

At 7:13 p.m., the police received a complaint a house was toilet-papered.

At 6:56 p.m., someone reported tools were stolen from a construction site on the 1400 block of Empire Avenue. The police say the tools are worth between $50 and $200.

Graffiti was reported inside a pedestrian tunnel underneath Deer Valley Drive at 4:09 p.m.

On Tuesday, June 12 at 11:35 p.m., two men reportedly became lost near the S.R. 224-Meadows Drive intersection as they tried to walk to their hotel room from a movie theater. An officer took them back.

A man was seen sleeping in the grass on Swede Alley at 1:50 p.m. Officers say he was gone when they arrived.

At 12:06 p.m., someone on the 6100 block of Royal Street reported tools were stolen. The police classify the case as a felony.

A painting was reportedly stolen from a building on the 100 block of Heber Avenue. The police received the report at 11 a.m.

On Monday, June 11 at 10:26 p.m., an officer warned a driver for failing to dim the high beams. The officer stopped the driver at the Kearns Boulevard-Wyatt Earp Way intersection.

At 7:24 p.m., officers were summoned to the 1600 block of Snow Creek Drive, where two people in a car reportedly appeared to shoot a gun. Investigating officers say nothing appeared suspicious when they arrived.

At 3:27 p.m., a cell phone was reported stolen in the 1700 block of Kearns Boulevard. The police say the phone is worth more than $200.

A kid was seen driving a go-cart on the 1900 block of Cooke Drive at 5:49 p.m. An officer found the driver, who the police say is under 16 years old, and wrote a ticket for operating the vehicle.

At 12:41 p.m., a woman suffered minor injuries in a motorcycle accident at the Deer Valley Drive-Bonanza Drive intersection.
