Pot seized on Interstate 80
A California man was booked into the Summit County Jail Wednesday on drug-related charges after marijuana was found inside his car on eastbound Interstate 80 near Silver Creek, Summit County Sheriff’s Office Detective Ron Bridge said.
The man was pulled over for committing a minor traffic violation, Bridge said.
The marijuana was located in the trunk of the car, he said.
"The marijuana had been purchased from a medical marijuana use store in Oakland, California," Bridge said in a prepared statement. "Some of the marijuana was unique in that it was in a consumable form. It was concealed in chocolate chip cookies and brownies."
About a quarter-pound of raw marijuana was seized from inside the vehicle, Bridge said.
The names of suspects are not normally printed in The Park Record until formal charges are filed in court.
