Premier of Utah agrees to bankruptcy

by Andrew Kirk, of The Record staff

Late Wednesday night, Premier Resorts of Utah agreed to go into Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Thursday morning, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Salt Lake City agreed to lift the stay on properties and owners binding them to their contracts with Premier’s local entity, formerly doing business as Deer Valley Lodging. That means owners those owners can now seek new property managers.

Additionally, the court approved the release of $88,000 in payroll funds and those checks to former employees were reportedly sent out Tuesday and Wednesday.
