Provo man dies after accident at PCMR
A Provo man died on Saturday after sustaining injuries in a skiing accident at Park City Mountain Resort that day, according to an obituary posted by a mortuary in Provo.
Canyon McKay Copa was 25 years old and enjoyed the outdoors, the obituary said. His outdoor activities included hiking, climbing, rappelling and canyoneering, according to the obituary. He was a physical therapy technician in Spanish Fork, it said.
PCMR released a statement saying a man was taken to Park City Medical Center after what the resort described as a "medical incident." It occurred on the Homerun trail. The mountain patrol was notified at 2:45 p.m. The man was taken to Park City Medical Center in an ambulance, the resort said. Homerun is a beginner-rated trail that descends from the upper reaches of PCMR to the base area.
"Park City Mountain Resort, its mountain patrol team, and all of Vail Resorts extend their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the individual," the PCMR statement said.
