Park City Mountain Resort is now closed for the winter season. The resort is scheduled to open for summer operations May 26. Activities include the Alpine Slide, ZipRider, Alpine Coaster, climbing wall, mountain biking, hiking, human maze, Legacy Launcher, miniature golf, Diggler Scooters, Little Miners Park and horseback riding. The Canyons Resort
The Canyons Resort is now closed for the winter season and is scheduled to reopen for summer operations June 22. Activities include gondola rides, lift-served hiking and mountain biking, guided fly-fishing tours and hot air ballooning. Hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The trails are open for hiking and biking! All Glenwild trails with the exception of Cobblestone Loop are open for riding now. Bob’s Basin trails, off of the 24-7 Connector, are open for riding, however, users are encouraged to stay off the "Team Cutthroat" line until things dry completely out. dry up. Round Valley is open for riding as well, but there may be a few wet spots. Tip: Promontory’s South Canyon trail is a great 10 mile out and back this time of year. Park City Municipal Golf Course is open for the summer season. This year’s fees are $26 for 18 holes of golf for residents, $40 with a cart; for non-residents the cost is $43 for 18 holes and $57 with a cart. The pro shop is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; tee-time reservations are required. For more information, call 615-5800.
Wasatch-Cache National Forest
Mirror Lake Highway, S.R. 150, is waiting for more snow to melt before opening the road through to Evanston, Wyo. The Uintas are aiming for Memorial Day weekend to open the campgrounds for use. For more information, contact the Kamas Ranger District at (435) 783-4338.
Utah Ski Resorts
Conditions are as follows for Utah ski resorts: Snowbird is the only resort currently open. The resort is reporting 100 inch base with 60 runs and two lifts operating. The resort is open weekends only through Memorial Day weekend.
Utah Avalanche Forecast
The Utah Avalanche Center forecast, is now closed for the season. However, the center urges those still venturing into the backcountry to be aware of increasing unstable snow conditions. With the temperatures warming, soft avalanche slides are highly probable. Users should be advised to ski and ride early in the morning, before the snow heats up.
