The Canyons Resort

As of Tuesday, March 20, the following Utah ski resorts report the following conditions: Alta is reporting a 91 inch snow base with 116 runs and 7 lifts open; Beaver Mountain is reporting 66 inches of snow with 30 runs and 5 lifts open; Brian Head is reporting 48 inches of snow with 54 runs and 7 lifts open; Brighton is reporting a 86-inch snow base with 66 runs and 6 lifts open; Powder Mountain is reporting 79 inches of snow with 113 runs and 6 lifts open.; Snowbasin is reporting a 68-inch snow base with 84 runs and 9 lifts open; Snowbird is reporting 80 inches of snow with 83 runs and 11 lifts open; Solitude is reporting a 82-inch snow base with 64 runs and 8 lifts open; Sundance is reporting 54 inches of snow with 30 runs and 3 lifts open; and Wolf Mountain is reporting a 21-inch snow base with 10 runs and 3 lifts open.
The White Pine Touring cross-country track is now closed for the season due to a lack of snow. For more information, call 649-6249.

Wasatch-Cache National Forest
Mirror Lake Highway, S.R. 150, is closed at mile marker 14 at Soapstone Basin. All campgrounds are currently closed and the ranger district says the snow is melting fast in the area. For more information, contact the Kamas Ranger District at (435) 783-4338.
Utah Avalanche Center
The Utah Avalanche Center, as of Tuesday, March 20, says record-breaking warm temperatures continue to warrant a special avalanche statement for the mountains of northern Utah — both large natural and human-triggered avalanches are possible. Those without excellent route-finding and avalanche safety skills should avoid being on or beneath steep mountain slopes.
