Redstone to host reception for wine artist Thomas Arvid
On Saturday, March 3, nationally recognized and collected artist Thomas Arvid will visit Redstone Gallery, 1678 Redstone Center Drive, #120, for a special engagement.
The event, "An Evening with Thomas Arvid," will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and attendees will have the opportunity to meet the renowned artist and view his artwork, including his two newest pieces, "Well Traveled" and "Silver Lining."
This will be Thomas Arvid’s third visit to The Redstone Gallery.
"Our receptions with Thomas Arvid have been simply fantastic and we are really looking forward to having him here again for this event," said Jenece Lemon, the gallery’s co-owner. "We will have several originals here at The Redstone Gallery on display for the show and throughout the month and as well."
Arvid is passionate about art and wine, a collector of both, he strives to capture the pleasure of a life well lived on each canvas, said Lemon.
An Atlanta resident and father of two young sons, the self-taught artist insists that wine should be approachable; his paintings are an embodiment of the casual way that people enjoy wine today.
"Wine is a great subject because people are familiar with it; they really connect to it and my paintings speak to the special moments that people share when they drink wine together it’s amazing that my collectors find a personal fulfillment in my work, especially when I’m just doing what I love," said Arvid, who has a waiting list of five years for his custom original oil-on-canvas paintings.
He is an appealing role model for a lifestyle of easy elegance and unpretentious charm. The magic of his painting is in Thomas Arvid’s ability to visualize and chronicle an entire scene beyond the frame to tell a story of enjoyment and the good life using rich color and masterful composition, Lemon said.
In addition, the Redstone Gallery has announced Arvid will join in National Ability Center’s Red, White & Snow benefit as the featured artist.
He will paint throughout the three days of events that featuring some of the nation’s top chefs and finest vintners.
An original work will be donated by Arvid to be auctioned off on Saturday March 10, at the Red, White & Snow Gala Dinner & Auction, at the Montage, Deer Valley. The gala offers guests the opportunity to mingle among vintners, sample fine wine and enjoy exceptional food.
The Redstone Gallery is an international fine-art gallery located in Park City’s Redstone Center and offers a collection of art in a variety of mediums including oil paintings, watercolors, gicleés, serigraphs, antique engravings and sculpture.
