Scarecrows Festival starts the season
September 18, 2009
The Friends of the Farm, a volunteer group that fosters community use of The McPolin Farm, will hold its annual Scarecrows at the Farm event on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 2 until 4 p.m. Families are invited to bring their creative genius and whatever materials they need to create a signature scarecrow. Crosses, stuffing and hanging materials will be provided. The cost is $25 for a group of four people. The scarecrows will remain on display along the trail to the Farm through Oct. 31. The event will also feature games for children, pumpkin and face painting, and traditional fall refreshments. Parking is limited and dogs are not allowed. Denise Carey and Julie Tuttle of the Friends of the Farm present the committee’s creation, Billy the Bluebird.
