Arts Fest volunteers Volunteer for the 2010 Park City Kimball Arts Festival, which will be held on Main Street Aug. 6-8. "Awesome 80s Prom" auditions

The Egyptian Theatre will hold auditions for its August family show, "The Awesome 80s Prom," on Friday and Saturday, July 1-2. Qualified candidates should bring a headshot, resume and be prepared to read from the script. Actors are needed to play high school-aged students and a few adult roles. Auditions will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at The Egyptian Theatre Studios in the Main Street Mall. The show starts mid-August. TEDxOilSpill viewing event

The Mega Genius Supply Store and IQ HQ on Main Street will serve as an official meetup location for the TEDxOilSpill event in Washington, D.C., on Monday, June 28. TEDxOilSpill is an independently organized TED event that will tackle tough questions raised by the recent and ongoing environmental catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico. Local streaming is sponsored by Spectrum DNA and will start at 7 a.m. and continue throughout the day. Those interested in joining the discussion are invited to stop by the store at 436 Swede Alley.

Author Gibbs Smith will discuss his book "Joe Hill," at the Park City Museum on Tuesday, June 29. Hill was a Park City miner who became infamous after a murder trial that resulted in his conviction and execution in Salt Lake City in 1915. The lecture will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a book sale and signing afterward.
