First Friday Artist Opening at Starving Artist Exchange
The Starving Artist Exchange, 283 N. Main St. in Kamas, will host its monthly First Friday Artist Opening with Chloe Fryer on Friday, Aug. 3, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Fryer will exhibit her jewelry creations. The event, which is free to the public, will also feature refreshments.
Utah Flute Choir Concert in Park City
The Utah Flute Association will present a free flute choir concert at Park City Community Church, 4501 N. S.R. 224, on Monday, Aug. 6, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be in preparation for the choir’s upcoming performance at the National Flute Association Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nev. The program directed by Dr. Elizabeth Weissman, is music inspired by Utah’s history, landscape and culture. Sundance to Extend Summer Film Schedule
Canyons Resort and Sundance Institute announced the addition of two free Thursday night film screenings in August "Napoleon Dynamite," one of the 2004 Sundance Film Festival Official Selections, and "500 Days of Summer," one of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival Official Selections." Jared Hess’ "Napoleon Dynamite" will screen on Thursday, Aug. 9, and "500 Days of Summer," directed by Marc Webb, will screen on Thursday, Aug. 23. Both screenings take place in the Resort Village at 9 p.m. Picnics, blankets and chairs are welcome. Newcomers’ Monthly Coffee Meeting
The Newcomers’ Club of Park City will meet Wednesday, Aug.8, at Park City Community Church, 4501 N. S.R. 224, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The speakers will be John Chanslor, president of High Country Fly Fishers, and John Schultz, president of the Friends of Strawberry, who will talk abut fly fishing.
