Riffs Acoustic Music, 1205 Iron Horse Dr., will host a concert for Peace House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending domestic violence in Summit and Wasatch counties, on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. Artists will include the Riff Raff Band, Dick Stoner and Karsyn Robb. Moons, Meteors and other Celestial Wonders at Wasatch Mountain State Park On Friday Dec. 14, Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway will host volunteers from Salt Lake Astronomical Society for a presentation at 7 p.m. The night will consist of stargazing and a chance to see the Geminid Meteor Shower followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows. Come watch the last meteor shower of the year, learn about the constellations and planets, and enjoy the grandeur of the night. All who attend will be entered in a drawing to win prizes such as snowshoe and cross-country ski passes. Attendees should dress appropriately and be prepared to be outside. ‘Here and Abroad II’ Exhibition Reception at Gallery MAR
Gallery MAR, 436 Main St., will host an artist reception for George Bodine and Warren Neary on Friday, Dec. 14, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Both artists’ works in oil paint range from Venetian city scenes to local landscapes. Music Art Works Studio’s Annual Christmas Recital The Music Art Works Studio will present its annual Christmas recital on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3010 Saddleback Rd., at Jeremy Ranch. Students of Sally Sanders will perform Christmas pieces, including several two piano pieces from "The Nutcracker Suite" by Tchaikovsky. A Trailside resident, and Snyderville Basin Planning Commission member, launched a write-in campaign for the Park City Board of Education hoping to “get the trust of the community back.”
