Holiday celebrations to happen today
A few local holiday celebrations will occur this weekend. Today at 8:30 a.m. The Canyons Resort will hold its annual Santa Skis Free day, with the first 50 guests in full St. Nick’s attire receiving free lift tickets for the day.
Then, at 3:30 p.m., the Strike the Motherlode party will take place at the Town Lift Plaza. The event will feature a prize drawing, refreshments and an appearance by Santa, who will make his entrance via the Town Lift.
Also this weekend, the Park City Singers will perform their final holiday concert, singing at the Prospector Square Lodge and Conference Center at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Art of Wine to feature Parallel Cabernet
Friday, Dec. 30, Parkites will get the chance to taste some (relatively) local wines. That night, The Art of Wine will feature Parallel Wine’s 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon in the Life is a Cabernet Friday Evening Wine School.
While Parallel Wines are made in Napa Valley, the winery is owned by a group including Mac and Ann MacQuoid, Val and Steve Chin, Joe Sargetakis and Paula Swaner-Sargetakis and Mike and Toni Doilney from or with deep ties to Park City. For the Dec. 30 Friday evening wine school, one of the winery’s owners will be on hand to answer questions about the wine.

Ballet West seeks ‘Nutcracker’ alumni
To celebrate Ballet West’s 50th anniversary production of "The Nutcraker," Ballet West will recognize former cast-members of the ballet.
During the Friday, Dec. 30 performance of "The Nutcracker" cast members who participated in the ballet from 1955 to 1995 will be recognized, and immediately following the performance, a group picture will be taken as a keepsake for the cast members.

The Park City Police Department on Saturday, May 8, received at least three complaints from businesses in the Main Street core. In one of the cases, a customer was outside “causing a scene,” according to department logs.
