The Wildlife Protection Society will hold a "hands-on" session for Wildlife Photography with well- known local photographer, Michael Flaherty on Thursday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m., at the Swaner Nature Preserve’s Highland Drive kiosk in Newpark. Attendees should bring a lawn chair, a camera and tripod, if possible, and wear good walking shoes for the fieldwork segment. Park City Film Series: "Jiro Dreams of Sushi"
The Park City Film Series will screen David Gelb’s "Jiro Dreams of Sushi," rated PG, on Friday, June 8, Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10, in the Jim Santy Auditorium in the Park City Library and Education Center, 1255 Park Ave. Friday and Saturday screenings will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday’s screening will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $6 for students and senior citizens. "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" is the story of Jiro Ono, the proprietor of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station. Despite its humble appearance, it is the first restaurant of its kind to be awarded a prestigious 3 star Michelin review. The Park Silly Sunday Market opens for the summer on Main Street on Sunday, June 10, at 10 a.m. The market will feature food, crafts, soaps and other locally-produced items each Sunday through Sept. 23. Midway Art Association Plein Air Workshop
The Midway Art Association will host a three-day workshop by renown Utah Plein Air artist, Steven Adams at the Midway Community Art Center, 160 W. Main St., on Thursday, June 14, through Saturday, June 16. Adams has been featured in Southwest Magazine and won the People’s Choice Award in last year’s Wasatch Plein Air Competition.
