"It’s Easy Being Green" Mini Day Camp for Youth

The "It’s Easy Being Green" mini-day camp will be held for youth in grades three through six at the Swaner EcoCenter, 1258 Center Dr., at Kimball Junction, on Saturday, March 17, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The children will explore ways that young people can help the environment and live green by playing games, completing art projects and conducting a community service project. Cost is $15 per person. There is a 10 percent discount for members. Pre-registration is required and due March 15. Town Hall Meeting at Treasure Mountain Junior High School

Valley Mental Health will hold a Town Hall Meeting for the Summit County community at Treasure Mountain Junior High School, 2530 Kearns Blvd., on Thursday, March 29, from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The meeting will address substance abuse and underage drinking. Steve Wright from Parents Empowered will talk about how parents can help prevent drug and alcohol use among children. Dr. Lena Terry with Summit Pediatrics will address how alcohol and substances affect the brain. The night will also feature an opportunity drawing. Snacks and childcare will be provided.
