Series will screen "The Italian"
Friday, the Park City Film Series will screen "The Italian" at 8 p.m. The film follows the six-year-old Vanya, who must choose between being adopted by an affluent Italian family or running away from the children’s home and his corrupt headmaster. Seeing that the older children must resort to stealing or in order to survive, Vanya decides to teach himself to read in order to steal his records and his birth mother’s address. Donate, swap at mega garage sale
Recycle Utah will hold a big garage sale on Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. This garage sale is designed for people who are Spring cleaning but who don’t want to hold a garage sale themselves. Don’t put serviceable items in the trash, but donate good, usable stuff to Recycle Utah by Friday, June 1 in time for the event. Celebrate Park City trails
Celebrate National Trails Day this Saturday, June 2. Meet at White Pine Touring on the Rail Trail at 9 a.m. to celebrate the Rail Trail’s National Recreation Trail designation and Utah State Parks’ 50th Anniversary. Bike to Wanship (a 13-mile ride). At Wanship Trailhead, help with trail work, then lunch at the Spring Chicken Inn. Commemorative bandanas and T-shirts will be given to the first 50 trail care workers. Children’s Fair will be held this Sunday
The 14th annual Park City Children’s Fair, hosted by Soaring Wings Education Foundation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City Park on Sunday, June 3. The event will feature activities for families including games, art, live music, prizes, food and a rummage sale. Arts-Kids seeks volunteers
Arts-Kids’ summer camps are seeking volunteers. Those interested must enjoy kids and appreciate the arts. Volunteers act as mentors and assist the artist and facilitator. The Commitment is four hours a day for one week, Monday-Friday. Dates of camps are June 11-15 (1-5 p.m.), July 16-20 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.), July 30-August 3 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) and August 6-10 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.). The camps will take place at the Silver Star.
