Catch a New Reel film
The New Reel Short Film Competition will be presented by the Park City Film Series on Thursday, May 10, featuring films by area high school students. Young filmmakers will compete for cash prizes. The winner will receive $500. All films will be screened at the Jim Santy Auditorium located in the Park City Library and Education Center at 1255 Park Avenue from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Call 615-8291 for more information or visit http://www.parkcityfilmseries.com .
Spend Friday at the Basin Field House
Basin Recreation hosts Field House Friday every Friday year around. This is an open play time for children ages 0-5. Come to the Newpark indoor soccer field to have the kids run around and have some field time fun! It’s from 10 a.m. to noon. feel free to bring bikes, riding toys, balls, wagons or any lawn toy. There is no food allowed on the field, but participants are welcome to snack in the lobby. Cost is $2 per family. There is also a bounce house set up for the kids! Bus routes tapered for summer
Park City Transit announces the summer schedule service hours are 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. Silver Lake service has been suspended until mid-June. Prospector Express and the Canyons routes will be suspended until mid-November. Summer transit guides are available. Call 615-5350 for more information.
Join the library board
Park City Mayor Dana Williams is currently accepting applications for Park City Library Board vacancies for terms of three years.
Appointments will be effective July 1. Applicants must be Park City residents and willing to attend monthly meetings as well as other business demands. Applications are available at the Park City Library at 1255 Park Avenue. For more information, contact Linda Tillson at 615-5605.
Big Stars, Bright Lights burn fast
Tickets for the Park City Performing Arts Foundation’s "Big Stars, Bright Lights" concert series are selling fast.
Reserved seating for the July 14th performance of Lyle Lovett and k.d. lang, as well as the Vince Gill, Amy Grant and the August 31st show featuring McCoury Band have already sold out.
Lawn seat tickets for all shows are still available.
