Sonolumina Chamber Orchestra to play in town next week

Park City’s local chamber group, the Sonolumina Chamber Orchestra will perform "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis," by Vaughan Williams, on Nov. 15 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. The group will also perform the same concert at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City on Nov 13. Both the Salt Lake and Park City shows begin at 8 p.m. For the performances, the group will be joined by the Choir School of the Medeleine for works by Handel, Bach and Thomis Tallis. The Salt Lake City show is free and open to the public. Tickets for the Park City show are $15 for students and seniors and $20 for others. For advance tickets or for more information, e-mail lharlow Kimball Art Center looking for volunteers The Kimball Art Center needs help with the de-installation of its Main Gallery Exhibition, "Adam Bateman: Literal Sculptures." Volunteers are needed to help take down and box up the books of which the sculptures are made. The Kimball will be working on the project on Nov. 14, 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. To sign up for a slot, contact Annie Kennedy at 649-8882 ext. 113 or e-mail education Team 13 to show new ski movie at the Santy Team 13, a ski movie production company, will show its new film, "Echo" at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16 in the Jim Santy Auditorium. The film features footage from around the West, including segments in the Wasatch and appearances from Utahans AJ Burton, Heath Ordway, Julian Carr, Bryan Barlow, Brant Moles and Nick Greener. Ordway, Carr and others are scheduled to attend the show. Tickets for the event are $5 and are available at Jans Mountain Outfitters or at the door. Correction The article "Adopt-a-Native Elder to show ‘How the West is Woven,’ mistakenly said the roping contest for the Navajo grandmothers will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11; it will not. Rather, the event will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. It is free and open to the public.
