The Kamas Theater, 30 N. Main Street, will donate 30 percent of its ticket and concession funds from its Nov. 1 screenings of "Footloose" and "Moneyball" for South Summit High School junior linebacker Porter Hancock. "Footloose" begins at 6 p.m. and "Moneyball" will start at 8:15 p.m. Rockwell suffered a neck injury during a game on Oct. 7, and is currently paralyzed from the waist down. Jans Winter Welcome
The 31st Annual Jans Winter Welcome gala will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Silver Lake Lodge, Deer Valley Resort, begining at 6 p.m. The event will feature silent and live auctions and musical performances by Bryon Friedman. Emcee will be the Today Show’s Paul Hochman and Olympian Shannon Bahrke. Formal dress is suggested. The evening will beneft the Youth Winter Sports Alliance. Engineers Without Borders Presents "Citizen Architects"
Engineers Without Borders Greater Salt Lake Chapter will present a fundraiser featuring a screening of the documentary "Citizen Architects" at the Jim Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library and Education Center on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. The film is about the late architect Samuel Mockbee and the spirit of the Rural Studio. The event, produced with the Design Build Bluff and the Park City Film Series, will also feature a silent auction and refreshments. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Sub for Santa Sign Ups
The Park City Christian Center is planning on helping 500 low-income families with its annual Sub for Santa Christmas Giveaway. Families interested in receiving gifts need to sign up by calling the Christian Center, at (435) 649-2260 or emailing at email@example.com . The list is made on a first-come/first-served basis for the first 500 families. A waiting list will also be created. All who wish to sponsor a family or buy gifts should contact the Christian Center.
