Children of Agape

The choir of young South Africans orphaned by AIDs will make a stop at the Eccles Center today at 7:30 p.m. as part of their "Never Stop Learning Tour" through the United States. They will perform traditional Zulu song and dance. The event will include student outreach events as well as screenings of the award-winning HBO documentary "Ithuteng." Songwriters Expo

This is the last day of the The Durango Songwriters Expo at The Canyons. There are workshops, listening stations, panels, open mikes. The event hosts over 40 music industry pros and songwriters. Teddy Geiger

The young singer songwriter and fresh pop-sensation will come to the Eccles Stage Oct. 13. at 7:30 p.m. The self-taught musician’s debut album "Underage Thinking" came to No. 8 on the Billboard chart recently. Geiger has been compared to John Mayer and Chris Martin. For more information, call 655-3114.

Temple groundbreaking

The Temple Har Shalom will celebrate the groundbreaking for its synagogue Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the site on S.R. 224. The facility is slated for completion in 2007 and will provide a permanent home for more than 250 member families.
