Rikka at Kimball Junction hosts Zendance Jan. 28-30. The three-day event promotes the benefits of practicing yoga and meditation, teaches a natural and fulfilling approach to cooking, and encourages various approaches to holistic living. Scheduled events include yoga and meditation sessions, cooking demonstrations, tea tastings, and music, art and film presentations. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Haiti Relief Fund. On the last Friday of each month from 6 until 9 p.m., members of the Park City Gallery Association offer a unique showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits, and art events. The last Friday Gallery Stroll is a free community event that gives locals and Park City visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while exploring Park City’s exciting art scene. Dolly’s Bookstore on Main Street presents an event with award-winning investigative journalist, columnist, author and Sundance panelist Amy Goodman on Friday, Jan. 29. Goodman will sign copies of her New York Times bestseller, "Breaking the Sound Barrier," from 3 until 4 p.m. The book is a collection of Goodman’s weekly syndicated columns on hot button political issues including the war in Iraq, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, immigration and illegal wiretapping.
Moonlight snowshoe hikes
Wasatch Mountain State Park will offer beginner, intermediate, advanced and family hikes on Friday, Jan. 29. Meet at the Visitor Center in Midway at 7 p.m. The cost is $5 per person plus $5 to rent snowshoes. Reservations are required; call Lucille Tuttle at 654-5150. Jordanelle State Park will host a moonlit hike on Saturday, Jan. 20. Meet at the Hailstone Event Center at 7 p.m. For more information, call (435) 649-9540.
