The Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to two rock slide incidents this week as the spring run-off increased, more flooding and rock slides are expected as the snow melt continues.

-On May 20 a report was made from Tollgate Canyon Road that a boulder too big to move by hand was blocking the road.

-The same day a call was made to the Sheriff’s office asking for assistance in clearing a rock slide on Daniels Pass which had blocked in a transport van.

May 17

Dispatchers received a report that a man was shooting toward a wooded area in the Basin. Neighbors reported he may have been hunting.

May 18

A man at the Tanger Outlet Mall was reportedly harassing customers near Furburbia.

A vehicle roll-over occurred near Echo Reservoir with two people inside the car, possible injuries were reported.

May 19

A Park City woman called and told police her granddaughter had been arrested in Mexico City. The Mexican officials had her wire them $5,000 and then called back saying she had to send another $7,500.

A Basin resident reported that a suspicious white van was parked next to her house for two days.

A South Summit woman reported that an ex-employee was trespassing on the property.

A report was made against a business in the Basin for having their music playing too loud.

May 20

A Basin establishment reported that a woman had been coming in for the past three nights and is making the workers uncomfortable.

A South Summit woman suspected someone had broken into her grandparent’s house.

A caller said a man in the Basin reportedly jumped out of his Toyota Camry and began beating on a Range Rover, the other driver fled.

The Sheriff’s Department responded to a truck which caught fire in North Summit, everyone was reportedly out of the truck when the fire spread to the trailer and road side.

May 21

North Summit High School administrators reported unauthorized individuals in the building around 1 a.m.

A caller reported that a car in North Summit had reportedly run another car off the road and was not able to maintain its lane of travel.

Three individuals in the Basin were reported for illegal dumping near Richardson Flats.

A Basin man reported he was drinking with some friends when he and his girlfriend got into an argument and she hit him.

May 22

A Basin woman reported that her solar lights were stolen.

A 16-year-old male was seen in the Basin urinating on trees.

A woman was reported at the Tanger Outlets for "conning" three shops out of $100 each.

A North Summit woman found a heron bleeding and possibly shot in her driveway.
