Sheriff’s Report


The Summit County Dispatch Center received multiple reports last week of materials and supplies being stolen from job sites, including construction tools and materials. Other calls received by the dispatch center include:

November 28

At 4 a.m., a semi-truck carrying pigs broke down on S.R. 248 in South Summit and was blocking traffic.

A South Summit resident report an antique gun had been stolen from his house.

A Basin resident reported he was verbally assaulted by his postman.

A 14-year-old in the Basin called dispatch to report his 18-year-old brother was throwing things at him and hitting him. When the step-father of the two boys was contacted, he told deputies the boys were fighting over cleaning.

A suspicious man was reportedly slowly driving around the Hidden Cove neighborhood in the Basin.

A business in the Basin reported someone stole videos and rubbing alcohol.

November 30

A South Summit resident reported she withdrew money from an ATM machine in Samak and forgot to pickup the money.

A Basin resident reported being threatened by his neighbor with a gun.

December 1

A South Summit resident reported that drug deals seemed to be occurring at a residence in Kamas. The caller said people were pulling up to the house, going inside for a few minutes and then quickly leaving.

December 2

A resident in the Basin reported that the lock on his back door had been tampered with and it appeared someone tried to enter his house while he was away.

A property manager in Newpark reported someone had kicked in the drywall at her business.

A Basin resident called police to report a suspicious vehicle was circling a cul-de-sac in Summit Park. When the resident stepped outside the vehicle quickly drove away.

A North Summit resident reported a car was tailgating him and had followed him from Heber to Kamas.

A North Summit resident reported seeing a pickup truck drive by at 10:30 p.m. with a teenager hanging off the back of the vehicle and another standing on the side.

December 3

A Basin resident reported hearing several loud juveniles near Parleys Park Elementary School at 1 a.m. She was afraid they were damaging the school.

A Basin resident called dispatch to request a vehicle be towed because when he parked in the same spot, his vehicle was towed.

Ten intoxicated individuals were reportedly causing a disturbance near Newpark after they were asked to leave an establishment.

December 4

A Basin resident reported seeing two females and a male cut down

a pine tree near Pinebrook.

A Basin resident reported his house in Jeremy Ranch had been egged sometime around 8 p.m.
