Some Parkites are still without power
April 9, 2009
Equipment failure likely caused a power outage that affected about 1,620 customers in the Park City area at noon on Thursday, Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Dave Eskelsen said. "It’s classified as an equipment failure, so there is no real cause," Eskelsen said in a telephone interview. "Certain components can fail in good weather or bad." Power was restored to most customers within an hour, Eskelsen said.He said he didn’t know the exact location of the customers affected by the outage. The equipment that failed is part of an electrical substation in Park City, Eskelsen said, adding that the power outage occurred at 12:01 p.m.
