Wasatch Backside Lifty Invitational
Park City Mountain Resort, Canyons and Deer Valley convene for the 4th annual Wasatch Backside Lifty Invitational (W.B.L.I.) to determine the town’s ultimate lift ops on Monday, March 26, Wednesday, March 28, and Friday, March 30. Canyons hosts the event on Monday, PCMR on Wednesday and Deer Valley on Friday. Events are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. each of those nights. Will Park City Mountain Resort complete a three-peat? Canyons won the inaugural event, can it rediscover past glory? Will Deer Valley break through and record their first win?
FIS Development Series at PCMR
Park City Mountain Resort will host four days of collegiate-level ski racing on CB’s Run beginning March 26. The Western Region FIS Development Series is expected to attract high-level collegiate racers along with some of the best juniors (ages 20 and younger) in the region. The schedule calls for women’s slalom and men’s giant slalom on March 26 and again on March 27. On March 28 and 29, the women will race giant slalom and the men will race slalom.
Beginning Fencing for Juniors
The Park City Fencing Academy at the Park City Day School in Pinebrook is holding Beginning Fencing for Juniors from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays and Thursdays in April: April 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24 and 26. All new students get a free introduction to fencing and a free April membership. The beginning fencing class will just be one hour, with open fencing afterwards. Park City Sailing Association’s Skigatta returns
The Park City Sailing Association is hosting its second "Skigatta" on March 31 and April 1. A Skigatta is an event that combines both sailboat racing and ski racing. Between the Jordanelle Reservoir and the Park City Mountain Resort, Park City is becoming known as a perfect location to host a ski-sailing event. This year the event will be sponsored by two well-known brands, Atlantis Weathergear and Cloudveil. The sailboat racing will be conducted on Saturday, March 31, with the first race beginning at noon. The racing will be close to the shore near the personal watercraft area to insure fun for the spectators. All contestants will be wearing drysuits to protect them from the frigid spring water temperatures. The ski-racing segment will be held at PCMR on the NASTAR course beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday. Parent-Kid Skateboard Clinic
Come join Park City Recreation where parents and kids can learn to skateboard together. For ages 5 years and older all abilities welcome. Park City Youth Lacrosse
Join the fastest-growing sport in Utah. Registration for Park City Youth Lacrosse’s spring session for girls in grades four to eight and boys in grades one to eight is now open. Practices begin March 29 (weather permitting) and games will be played from April 21 to June 2. PC Tennis is offering a beginners’ clinic for adults every Saturday morning from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This is a great way to learn tennis in a fun, noncompetitive environment. Wasatch Back Relay Training at PC MARC Running the Wasatch Back Relay this year, or just need some motivation to run? Go to the PC MARC. The PC MARC is offering dryland conditioning on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
