Basin Recreation Fall Soccer
Fall is fast approaching, so it’s time to sign up for Basin Recreation fall soccer. Games and practices will be held at Park City and Snyderville Basin fields. Boys and girls teams, grades K through 9th, will practice and play games twice a week from Aug. 27 to Oct. 13. Preschoolers will practice and play games once a week starting Aug. 25. Cost is $70 per player ($60 for preschoolers). Sign up before July 24 for the early-bird rate. Late sign-ups result in a $10 late fee. Women ski jumpers to exhibit sport at annual benefit
The No. 1-ranked U.S. women’s ski jumping team, based in Park City, is holding its annual gala fundraising event at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at the Utah Olympic Park.
Women’s Ski Jumping USA, the team’s primary sponsor, is targeting $100,000 from the event to help pay for the team’s training, travel, equipment and coaching expenses for the World Cup and more. Women ski jumpers will make history in 2014 in their first appearance in an Olympic Winter Games. Members of the U.S. team will jump off the K120 hill to offer guests an up-close-and-personal look at the sport. Gourmet food, drink, a live and silent auction of luxurious items and trips, and acoustic entertainment will be provided. Senior Total Body Walking at PC MARC
Beginning July 19, the PC MARC will be offering a senior walking class using Exerstrider poles. This class is for all abilities and will engage muscles from the torso up as well as the legs. Park City Recreation has an opening for its next women’s only mountain bike clinic starting Tuesday, July 10, from 10 am to noon. Become familiar with local trails, your bike and what you are capable of doing on it in this small supportive group class.
PC MARC noon drop-in basketball
Drop into the PC MARC for some daily noon drop-in basketball. Players 18 to 34 can come to the MARC weekdays from noon to 2 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Players 35 and older are welcome Tuesdays and Thursdays. Daily drop-in rates apply. Call the PC MARC with any questions at (435) 615-5401.
PC MARC July 11 Lunch and Learn
The PC MARC invites the whole community to join in on the second Wednesday of every month for the wellness education Lunch and Learns, where local speakers will discuss topics concerning overall wellbeing. Upcoming is Nutritionist Audrey Lee, who will speak on permanent fat loss through nutrition and exercise on July 11 from noon to 1 p.m. For more information call (435) 615-5401.
Park City Women’s 9-Hole Golf League
Park City is home to the largest women’s 9-hole golf league in the state. The league plays on Tuesdays at the Park City Golf Course throughout the summer, with the season running until the end of September. It’s a fun and social organization that offers women of any skill level the opportunity to play golf in a friendly atmosphere. Outlaw Golf Club Junior Classes
The Outlaw Golf Club at Hideout Canyon is offering PGA Junior Golf classes throughout the golf season. Classes, which include supervised on-course instruction, are held from 10:30 am to noon every Tuesday and Thursday from now until October. Costs are $25 per class or $100 for five classes. The PC MARC is now offering a synchronized-swimming camp with a session for children ages 6 to 15 years and another for those 15 years and up. Learn the basic strength and conditioning skills of synchronized swimming. Participants will enjoy learning their own routines. Park City Recreation Coed Kickball League
Remember those days on the playground? Well, Park City Recreation is bringing them back with its coed kickball league. Coed teams will play at the Park City Sports Complex on Wednesday nights beginning August 1 and continuing through Oct 10. The cost per team is $300 and the registration deadline is July 18. Park City Ute Youth Football Registration
Registration for the 2012 Ute Youth Football Conference Season is now open. Children ages 8 to 14 living in the Park City School District boundaries are welcome to register. The season begins July 30 and runs through October. The fee is $265 plus a $50 volunteer fee refundable with seven hours of volunteer service. Fees cover season rental of top-of-the-line equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, practice pants, game pants, socks and mouth guard) and two jerseys your player may keep with an embroidered name on both jerseys. 2012 Summer Skate Series
Don’t miss out on the action in Utah’s premier skate-competition series. Park City Recreation will be hosting competitions on Saturdays July 28 and Aug. 25 at Park City Skate Park. 34th Annual Park City Soccer Camp
Coach Randy Farris returns to Park City Recreation’s summer camp to offer a high-quality exciting opportunity for soccer skill development.
