Pau Hana PCSUP Cup
On Saturday, Sept. 8, the third and final race of the summer paddleboard series will be held. Day-of registration is scheduled for 7 to 8 a.m. The first race is slated to begin at 8 a.m. There will be novice races on surfboard-shaped SUPs, kids’ races, open races (broken down into age, gender and board-length divisions), as well as elite races for both men and women on 12-foot 6-inch race boards. There will also be coed tandem races, a doggy-paddle parade (dress up your pooch and show off for the judge), as well as a dash-for-the-cash sprint race (free to enter). Lunch will be offered by Nature’s Wraps, music by DJ Joey J. There will be board demos, etc. More information and registration at http://www.pcsupcup.com .
Learn to Skate & Learn to Play Hockey classes
Fine-tune your skating and hockey skills and get ready for the winter season at the Park City Ice Arena. Early fall classes meet Mondays or Tuesday beginning Sept. 10 or 11 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The arena offers skating classes for all levels, ages 3 to adult. Hockey is available on Mondays to those future players, ages 7-14, who have passed the Snow Flurries Learn to Skate class in hockey skates. Small-and-tall parent and preschooler skate classes
Learn to skate with your child and learn the basic skating skills with an emphasis on safety during a six-week session of 30-minute classes. Classes meet Tuesdays from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. or Wednesdays from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Class fees include skate rental, class time, and practice time for one adult and one child. Want a great way to get into shape and have a great time doing it? Come join the lunch bunch adult skating class and "ICE"ercise on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Class fees include a 30-minute lesson, practice time and a punch card for three open-skate sessions. PCHS boys’ golf fundraising auction
The Park City High School boys’ golf team is hosting a fundraising auction. The auction started on Aug. 25 and is scheduled to run until Sept. 16 at noon. This is a golf-lover’s fundraiser. The auction has rounds of golf at Glenwild, Park City, Park Meadows, Promontory Dye Course, Soldier Hollow, Jeremy Ranch, Tuhaye, and Victory Ranch. Basin Rec Taekwon-Do Classes
Learn the fundamentals of self-defense in the traditional Korean martial art of taekwon-do on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. from Sept. 11 through Nov. 20 at the Basin Recreation Trailside Park fitness room. Instructor Steve Pastorino from Park City Taekwon-Do will teach the class which focuses on building character, fitness, and discipline in a fun, family-oriented way. The cost is $100 per student. Fall Youth Tennis at PC MARC
Fall youth tennis at the PC MARC is open for registration. Programs are taught by USPTA certified tennis professionals. Youth tennis clinics are available for kids ages 3 through 17 at all skill levels. Seventh annual Board of Realtors Charity Golf Tournament
The seventh annual charity golf tournament presented by the Park City Board of Realtors Philanthropic Foundation and Affiliate Members will be held at Red Ledges on Monday, Sept. 17. The tournament will include an 18-hole scramble, lunch, gift bag, contests, silent auction, and fun. All proceeds will benefit the Children’s Justice Centers in Summit and Wasatch counties. The Park City lodging industry in recent weeks experienced an uptick in projected occupancy numbers during the dates of the Sundance Film Festival, but the figures remain depressed from a typical year during the largest special event on the city’s calendar.
