Running with Ed
The inaugural Running with Ed relay race will take place on Saturday, May 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Teams of five will run a 43-mile route on Park City trails, passing all seven Park City public schools. Each team member will run two legs of the race, with legs ranging from 1 to 9 miles. Beginner to advanced runners are welcome and will be entertained with a rocking finish party. The Youth WinterSports Alliance is offering opportunities for area children to participate in a variety of winter sports through free introductory camps and clinics. More than 6,000 coupon books have already been distributed in Summit and Wasatch County elementary schools. Jazz seat transfer program
The Utah Jazz is the first team in the NBA to provide an online service which allows season-ticket holders the ability to sell and transfer the "renewal rights" to their seat locations to interested buyers. The service provides fans the opportunity to become season-ticket holders in sold-out seating areas that are not available directly from the Jazz. Competitive baseball tryouts
Competitive baseball tryouts will be held at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse on Jan. 13, 16, 20 and 23; times vary by age. Players nine years and under must call Jason Davis at 801-910-2001, ten-year-olds must call Matt Strader at 435-640-1877 and twelve-year-olds must call Don Pruitt at 435-604-0511 for a complete list of times for tryouts.
Come try ski jumping with Olympian Alan Alborn and the Park City Nordic Ski Club at the Utah Olympic Park. The Visa Learn to Fly camps are geared towards 6-11-year-old boys and girls who want a little more wind beneath their wings while enhancing their all-around ski skills. The Futsal soccer league is a high-speed five-on-five game played on a small court. The league runs weekly from Tuesday, Feb. 2, through March 30 at the Park City Racquet Club.
