Avalanche class Join park staff and Forecasters from the Utah Avalanche Center from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hailstone Event Center at Jordanelle for a class on avalanche and snow safety. This class is for to families with junior high and high school kids who spend time in the mountain snow. The rising number of young avalanche victims has demonstrated an obvious need for basic avalanche educations. To register, please call 435-649-9540. The class and entrance into the park for the class is free.

Skate for Hope

Join Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille (20-year NHL veteran) for a party on ice, hosted by Andie McDowell. All proceeds benefit the Echos of Hope charity. The event will be held on Jan. 24 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. at the Park City Ice Arena. Admission is $5. For more information, call 435-615-5718.

Olympian dinner

Tickets are now on sale for Dinner with an Olympian featuring Steve Holcomb, Shauna Rohbock, Zach Lund, Noelle Pikus-Pace, Chris Fogt and Bill Schuffenhauer. Cost is $100 per person (60% is tax deductible). The dinner is open to individuals, couples and families. Families receive a 10 percent discount. This is a fundraising event for the U.S. bobsled and skeleton teams. It will be held Feb. 6 at the Grand America Hotel Ballroom in Salt Lake City. Futsal league

The futsal soccer league is a high-speed five-on-five game played on a small court. The league runs weekly from Tuesday, Feb. 2, through March 30 at the Park City Racquet Club. Treasure hunt

Join the all-mountain treasure hunt at Park City Mountain Resort Feb. 6 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Teams of two will fuel up with a breakfast buffet at the Legacy Lodge before skiing PCMR and chasing clues that lead to 10 checkpoints and a treasure chest. The three fastest teams will pick up the best prizes. Teams under the age of 10 and over the age of 60 will also receive prizes. For more information, visit http://www.parkcityhunt.com.

Running with Ed

The inaugural Running with Ed relay race will take place on Saturday, May 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Teams of five will run a 43-mile route on Park City trails, passing all seven Park City public schools. Each team member will run two legs of the race, with legs ranging from 1 to 9 miles. Beginner to advanced runners are welcome and will be entertained with a rocking finish party.
