Winter Games party
The Winter Sports School is bringing together bowling and the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, for one great cause. Come out to the Vancouver 2010 Night Before the Opening Ceremonies Party, Thursday, Feb. 11, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Jupiter Bowl, Newpark Town Center, Kimball Junction. The tax-deductible admission fee is $100 per adult and $25 per child (for up to two kids 17 and under when accompanied by an adult) and includes bowling, food, beverages, silent and live auctions and gold-medal fun. This community fundraising event is sponsored by American Express, Park City Tech Center, Park City Board of Realtors, USANA Health Sciences, Zions Resort Bank and the Youth Winter Sports Alliance. All proceeds will benefit The Winter Sports School Scholarship Fund. Last year, the fund awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships to 22 deserving students. The Silver Ski Nordic Tour to support the Park City Nordic Ski Club will be held on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meet at White Pine Touring or ski from Willow Creek Park. There will be free Rossi hats for the first 200 skiers. Hot soups and beverages will be provided by Starbucks and Newpark with games for kids and adults. Join the all-mountain treasure hunt at Park City Mountain Resort Feb. 6, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Teams of two will fuel up with a breakfast buffet at the Legacy Lodge before skiing PCMR and chasing clues that lead to 10 checkpoints and a treasure chest. Running with Ed
The inaugural Running with Ed relay race will take place on Saturday, May 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Teams of five will run a 43-mile route on Park City trails, passing all seven Park City public schools. Each team member will run two legs of the race, with legs ranging from 1 to 9 miles. Beginner to advanced runners are welcome and will be entertained with a rocking finish party.
