The19th Annual Pedalfest Cross-Country Mountain Bike Race, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 16 at Deer Valley Resort. The race was canceled last week due to weather conditions. This is the seventh race in the Intermountain Cup Series and takes place on the trails near Snow Park Lodge and is for all ability levels. All races will start at 6:15 p.m., except kids’ races, which will begin at 6 p.m. Day-of registration is available from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Snow Park Ticket Office. Cole Sport hosts a bike swap
Cole Sports is hosting a bike swap to benefit Mountain Trails Foundation this Friday. Bikes can be dropped of Friday, June 18 at Cole Sport, 1615 Park Ave. This is also the location for the swap. It is free to enter a bike and $10 if the bike sells. All proceeds go directly to Mountain Trails. Bikes need to be picked up by 3 p.m. on Sunday if they do not sell. Mountain biking season gets going
Mountain biking season is officially underway as Deer Valley and the Canyons join PCMR with lift service.
The Canyons gondola opens June 18 and runs through August 29, daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with service to Mid-mountain lodge and trail heads that access the mid-mountain trail and a climb to the Wasatch Crest trail.
Park City Mountain Resort’s Town Lift and Pay Day are currently operating. Ticket prices are $11 for a single lift ride, $18 for an all day pass, and $250 for a summer season pass. Detailed trail maps from the Mountain Trails Foundation are available at the ticket window.
Deer Valley offers lift-served mountain-biking and hiking, scenic chairlift rides seven days a week from June 18 through Labor Day, and on weekends only after Labor Day through September 12, weather conditions permitting. Guests starting at the Resort base at Snow Park can take the Silver Lake Express to the resorts mid-mountain area. See the resort website for ticket rates. Mountain bike rentals are open seven days a week during the summer season, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Deer Valley Mountain bike school also operates seven days a week and is based out of Snow Park Lodge.
B98.7 presents third annual fun run for WSS
B98.7 will sponsor the third annual Winter Sports School 5K Fun Run and Community Fair, featuring a 5K run, costume race, hula hoop competition, food, music, beverages, prizes, drawings, interactive booths and displays, face painting, performances, health screenings, safety demonstrations and more. Admission for the race and fair are $25 for adults and $15 for kids younger than 17. For admission to the fair only, cost is $5 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Winter Sports School Scholarship Fund and the United Nations World Food Program.
