Star Bar benefits Park City soccer team

by Tracie Fails, of the Record staff

Most Park City night-scene enthusiasts know Danny Hill by his disk-spinning moniker, DJ Danny Boy. A longtime fixture behind the decks at every Main Street venue from Cisero’s to Harry O’s, the multifaceted entertainer has now taken on the business end of the industry, accepting the role of manager of the Star Bar.

Having nearly earned a degree in business, he said he looks forward to the challenge and the chance to diversify from DJing.

"Now I can actually use what I’m learning in school." Having consistently performed several nights a week over the past 10 years, including stretches of 14 nights in a row, he also noted that the new gig will ease the toll nonstop DJ-ing has taken on his hearing.

"This is a little easier on the ears," he said.

Hill will continue to DJ on Saturdays, moving his regular gig at Cisero’s to the Star Bar. He debuts in that capacity today at the Park City Soccer Ball, an annual fundraiser for the Park City High School soccer team.

"It’s a big thing in the soccer community," he said. "And all the money at the door goes to help them out."

Doors open to the general public with a $10 cover at 9 p.m. A private reception for Park City soccer begins at 7 p.m.

The Star Bar is located at 268 Main Street. For more information, visit http://www.myspace.com/starbarpc .
