Suede to host Public Enemy


Station U92 will help to host a three-hour performance of Public Enemy including all original members of the hip-hop band this Friday, Oct. 26. Local artists Nubs, Sem and Virtue, DJ Kelrock will provide acts throughout the evening.

Public Enemy, a.k.a. PE, hails from Long Island, New York and released their first album, "Yo! Bum Rush the Show" on Def Jam Records in 1987. The founders include lead producer, lyricist and main vocalist Carlton Douglas Ridenhour, known as "Chuck D," and William Jonathan Drayton, Jr., also known as "Flavor Flav." The indie band is infamous for its politically-charged lyrics in songs like "Bring the Noise," "Fight the Power" and "Don’t Believe the Hype." PE’s latest album is called "How You Sell Soul to a Soulless People who sold their Soul."
