Summit County Friends of Animals


Our purpose is to protect and provide for animals while fostering an awareness of their importance in our lives.

Summit County Friends of Animals is comprised of staff and volunteers dedicated to assisting our two local shelters, Summit County and Heber City, in rescuing and finding new homes for dogs and cats, and helping them to remaining no-kill facilities, as they have been for more than two years.

Wish List

  • Funding to Spay and Neuter more animals ($20,000 per year)
  • Contributions to pay for vaccinations ($12,000 per year)
  • Funding help cover boarding dogs overnight ($16,000 per year)
  • Donors to support education programs (in school, camps and at-risk youth training) ($25,000)

How to Help

  • Walk dogs between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. every day
  • Foster animals (short-term care for both cats and dogs)
  • Data entry and mailing list maintenance
  • Follow-up phone calls to check on adoptions (making sure all are well, both adopting families and the animals)
