Candidate filing window opens Friday

The filing window to register as a candidate for the 2016 election is open from 8 a.m. on Friday, March 11 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. Candidates must file in person at the Summit County Clerk’s Office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Four Summit County Council seats will be on the ballot, in addition to three Board of Education seats from each school district in Summit County. One local seat in the state Senate and three state House of Representatives seats will also be on the ballot.

The filing fee for each office is:

  • Summit County Council: $213.69 (subject to change pending a County Council vote on Wednesday)
  • Board of Education: $50
  • State Senate: $111.43
  • State House of Representatives: $80.71

Park City Mountain Resort to expand two lifts next year

Vail Resorts announced two lift expansions for Park City Mountain Resort set to take place next summer. The Silverlode Express and Eagle lift are to be expanded, with the latter slated to be realigned to end near the top of the King Con Express, changing access from the PCMR base.
