According to the Summit County Attorney's Office, the following cases were heard on Monday, Aug. 8, in Third District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Jose Deanery Bruno-Medrano, 29, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is Sept. 26.

Jessie R. Dorrego, 29, of Orlando, Florida, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $4,750 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered the defendant to pay a $4,750 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Rafael Hernandez-Ramos, 30, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered him to serve 15 days in jail with credit for 15 days served, pay a $400 fine, complete 30 hours of community service and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Anthony D. Holman, 38, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, was sentenced for the offense of theft by receiving stolen property, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison. The sentence was suspended and the court imposed a 30-day jail sentence with credit for 17 days served.

Joseph Ross Bryant, 28, of Magna, was sentenced for the offense of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison. The sentence was suspended and the court imposed a 110-day jail sentence. The court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered him to serve 110 days in jail with credit for 38 days served, complete 100 hours of community service and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Joshua Randy Lee Harmon, 29, of Salt Lake City, was sentenced for the offense of attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison. The sentence was suspended and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered him to complete 30 hours of community service and other standard terms and conditions.

Michael P. Roy, 40, of Park City, was sentenced for three counts of possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony, possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class B misdemeanor; and possession or use of drug paraphernalia, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison for each third-degree felony and then suspended the terms. The court imposed a 182-day jail sentence for each of the Class B misdemeanors. The court placed the defendant on court probation for 24 months and ordered him to serve one year in jail.

Jeffery Lynn Evans, 58, of Park City, was sentenced for the offense of possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence with credit for 196 days served.

Christopher S. Schutte, 47, of Kamas, entered guilty pleas to possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony, robbery, a second-degree felony, attempted aggravated burglary, a second-degree felony, and endangerment of a child or elder adult, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is Oct. 3.
