Court report: Francis man sentenced to one year in jail for sexual exploitation of a minor

According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Monday, March 4, in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Douglas Edwin Marcus, 57, of Prue, Oklahoma, entered a guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. The jail sentence was suspended. The court placed him on court probation for 18 months and ordered him to pay a $2,500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Sydney Leigh Ausseresses, 24, of Salt Lake, entered a guilty plea to assault against a peace officer or military service member in uniform, a class A misdemeanor; propelling a bodily substance, a class A misdemeanor; and assault, a class B misdemeanor. Sentencing is scheduled for April 15.

Eden Guadalupe Chavez, 29, of Heber City, entered a no contest plea to attempted assault by a prisoner, a class A misdemeanor, and propelling a substance or object at an officer, employee, volunteer or provider, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence for each charge and suspended the sentence. The court placed him on supervised probation for 18 months and ordered him to complete other standard terms and conditions.

Dexter Dale Decker, 25, of Lyman, Wyoming, entered a guilty plea to DUI, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is scheduled for April 22.

Erica Lynne Donaldson, 31, of Heber City, entered into a 12-month plea in abeyance to possession or use of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and entered a guilty plea to impaired driving, a class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence for impaired driving. The sentence was suspended. The court placed her on court probation for 12 months and ordered her to complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $1,000 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions. The court ordered her to pay a $300 fee and complete other standard terms and conditions as part of the plea in abeyance.

Christina Marie Eichler, 43, Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, a third-degree felony, and obstructing justice, a class A misdemeanor. She was given credit for time served.

Lili Kay Estin, 40, of Sandy, entered into a 12-month plea in abeyance to theft, a class A misdemeanor, and interfering with an arresting officer, a class B misdemeanor. The court ordered her to complete standard terms and conditions.

Francis Houston Redding Jr, 69, of Bountiful, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and being an interlock restricted driver, a class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $500 fine for possession or use of a controlled substance, and imposed a 180-day jail sentence for being an interlock restricted driver. The court suspended the sentences, placed him on court probation for 12 months and ordered him to pay a $500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Elio Saucedo, 39, of Evanston, Wyoming, entered a guilty plea to DUI, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. The court suspended 363 days of the jail sentence, placed him on court probation for 18 months, and ordered him to serve two days in jail, pay a $1,370 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Hailey Katherine Shand, 25, of Park City, entered into a 12-month plea in abeyance to possession or use of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and entered a guilty plea to DUI, a class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence for DUI. The sentence was suspended. The court placed her on court probation for 12 months and ordered her to complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $1,370 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions. The court ordered her to comply with all terms and conditions of the DUI sentence as part of the plea in abeyance.

Andrew Donn Whytock, 48, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to assault, a class A misdemeanor, and possession or use of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $500 fine. The jail sentence was suspended. The court placed him on court probation for 12 months and ordered him to pay a $500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Robert Jalil Williams, 19, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to burglary, a second-degree felony. Sentencing is scheduled for April 22.

Jacob Keith Edwards, 44, of Francis, was sentenced for the offenses of sexual exploitation of a minor, a third-degree felony, and sexual battery, a class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a sentence of zero to five years at the Utah State Prison for sexual exploitation of a minor. The sentence was suspended. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence for sexual exploitation of a minor and a one-year jail sentence for sexual battery. The court placed him on supervised probation for 36 months and ordered him to serve one year in jail, pay restitution of $201.77 and complete other standard terms and conditions.
