According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Feb. 29 in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Noe Galvan-Valencia, 32, of Magna, entered a guilty plea to false personal information with intent to be another actual person, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered the defendant to serve 20 days in jail with credit for seven days served and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Kelby Lee Brown, 27, of North Salt Lake, entered a guilty plea in abeyance to two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, each a second-degree felony. The court ordered the defendant to successfully complete Davis County Drug Court and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Jagit Singh, 46, of Stockton, California, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to wrongful appropriation, a Class A misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $500 fee, $1,279 in restitution and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Marshell L. Woods, 45, of North Highlands, California, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to pay a $500 fine, $250 recoupment fee and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Ali Alatawna, 23, of Holiday, was sentenced for the offense of sexual battery, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered the defendant to serve 210 days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

John Robert Hockhalter, 46, of Park City, was sentenced for the offense of distribution of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony. The Court imposed a one-to-15 year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $10,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered him to serve 180 days in jail, pay a $500 fine, complete 40 hours of community service and complete other standard terms and conditions.
