According to the Summit County Attorney's Office, the following cases were heard on Monday, July 31 in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Rodrigo Marccili De Oliveira Martin, 24, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, entered a guilty plea to two counts of assault, both Class B misdemeanors. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for each count. The court suspended 173.5 days on each count and gave the defendant credit for 13 days served.

Aaron Arnold, 22, of Rifle, Colorado, entered a guilty plea to attempted theft by deception, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for attempted theft by deception and imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for possession or use of a controlled substance. Those sentences were suspended and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to serve 24 days in jail with credit for 24 days served, pay a $750 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Johnathan Christian Hattaway, 39, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to retail theft, a Class A misdemeanor. Sentencing is Sept. 18.

Murphy Jacobs, 31, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to lewdness, a Class B misdemeanor, and interference with an arresting officer, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine. The court suspended 150 days and gave the defendant credit for 19 days served.

Christopher T. Olheiser, 19, of Belfield, North Dakota, entered a guilty plea to attempted forgery, a third-degree felony, and attempted possession of a forgery writing device, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is Sept. 18.

Kari J. Redmond, 37, of Belfield, North Dakota, entered a guilty plea to attempted forgery, a third-degree felony, and attempted possession of a forgery writing device, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is Sept. 18.

Summer Swindell, 36, of Park City, entered into a six-month plea in abeyance to child abuse, a Class A misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to successfully complete an anger management class.

Natalie August Westmoreland, 40, of Salt Lake City, entered a no contest plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony, and lewdness, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a zero-to five-year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine for possession or use of a controlled substance and imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for lewdness. Those sentences were suspended and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 24 months, ordered her to pay a $1,000 fine, complete 24 hours of community service, and other standard terms and conditions.

Christopher C. Burnett, 42, of Oakley, was sentenced for the offense of domestic violence in the presence of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, and intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for domestic violence in the presence of a child and imposed a 90-day jail sentence and a $750 fine for intoxication. Those sentences were suspended and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 24 months, ordered him to serve 45 days in jail, and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Caitlin M. Swenson, 39, of Murray, entered a guilty plea to theft, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is Sept. 18.
