According to the Summit County Attorney's Office, the following cases were heard on Monday, June 26 in 3rd District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Bon Amkhamavog, 54, of Sacramento, California, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was suspended and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to serve 15 days in jail with credit for time served, pay a $2,500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Frank Kyle Carlisle Johnson, 22, of Ogden, entered a guilty plea to assault, a Class A misdemeanor, and attempted violation of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor. Sentencing is August 14.

Christopher R. O'Connell, 30, of Park City, entered a guilty plea to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, a third-degree felony. The court imposed zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine. That sentence was suspended and the court imposed 63 days of home confinement, placed the defendant on supervised probation for 18 months and ordered the defendant to pay a $1,500 fine, successfully complete Drug Court and other standard terms and conditions.

Curtis Vega, 33, of Sandy, entered a guilty plea to attempted forgery, a Class A misdemeanor, and theft by deception, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for each count. Those sentences were suspended and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 12 months and ordered the defendant to complete standard terms and conditions.

Taylor Wilson Jones, 19, of Centerville, entered a guilty plea to attempted burglary, a Class A misdemeanor; theft, a Class A misdemeanor; and obstruction of justice, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for each count. Those sentences were suspended and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months and ordered the defendant to complete standard terms and conditions.

Paul Christopher Johnson, 44, of Salt Lake City, was sentenced for the offenses of theft by receiving stolen property, a Class A misdemeanor; unlawful possession, purchase or transfer of a dangerous weapon, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.
