According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Nov. 30 in Third District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Tui Pele Falo, 47, of Pleasant Grove, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor and impaired driving, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence for possession or use of a controlled substance. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence for impaired driving. Those sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, gave credit for 104 days served and ordered the defendant to pay a $250 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Patrick Fletcher, 36, of West Valley, entered a guilty plea to attempted theft by deception, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to pay a $500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Tyler James Hughes, 21, of Park City, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to obstructing justice, a Class A misdemeanor, and interference with arresting officer, a Class B misdemeanor. The court ordered the defendant to pay a $1,000 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

John W. Jenkins, 70, of Heber City, entered a guilty plea to attempted sexual battery, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a six-month jail sentence and a $1,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, and ordered him to pay a $500 fine, pay a $100 recoupment fee and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Kao Lao, 53, of Crescent City, California, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a six-month jail sentence and a $2,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered the defendant to pay a $1,900 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Rohan McClure, 51, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, entered a guilty plea to failure to stop or respond at command of police, a third-degree felony, and driving under the influence, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 24 months, and ordered him to serve 10 days in jail, wear an ankle monitor and serve home confinement for 50 days after his release from jail, pay a $1,500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Soran K. Kaka, 41, of West Fargo, North Dakota, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 24 months, ordered the defendant to serve 60 days in jail with credit for 90 days served and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Dawn Nelson Grams, 56, of Heber City, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered her to pay a $500 fine, complete 25 hours of community service, forfeit $1,187 cash and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Nicholas Grant Stevens, 24, of Snowflake, Arizona, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to pay a $500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.
