According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Oct. 5 in Third District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:

Christopher J. Colbe, 24, of Sacramento, California, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,900 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to pay a $1,900 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Justin P. Jacob, 41, of Sparta, Tennessee, entered a guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 24 months, and ordered him to serve 45 days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Brian William Kunkle, 24, of Park City, entered into a plea in abeyance for 12 months to two counts of possession or use of a controlled substance, each Class A misdemeanors. The court ordered the defendant to pay court costs in the amount of $750 and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Robert Thomas Martin, 29, of Houston, Texas, entered a guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to serve 31 days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Kristopher Miles Ricks, 28, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to pay a $750 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Tamone Terrill Thompson, 35, of San Ramon, California, entered a guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered the defendant to serve 30 days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Melissa Holmes, 44, of Kamas, was sentenced for the offense of possession or use of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 24 months, ordered her to serve 75 days in jail and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Bacilio Mercado, Jr. 49, of Park City, was sentenced for driving under the influence, a third-degree felony. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered him to serve 62.5 days in jail, pay a $750 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.

Lauren C. Colvin, 31, of Park City, entered into a plea in abeyance for 36 months to four counts of falsely obtaining or dispensing a prescription, each third-degree felonies. The court ordered the defendant to enter and successfully complete Drug Court and other standard terms and conditions.
