Four burglary suspects arrested in Park City
June 16, 2015
Four individuals were arrested last week in connection with a string of vehicle, residential and business burglaries that occurred in Park City and Summit County, according to Summit County Sgt. Ron Bridge.
Three of the individuals were arrested at a Park City residence on Thursday. The fourth was detained later that day. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the names of the suspects due to an ongoing investigation.
Investigators were led to the suspects after an iPhone was found near a damaged car in the Canyons Resort area. After investigators were granted a search warrant from the Third District and through digital forensics, investigators discovered the phone belonged to an individual in Park City, who is believed to be the primary suspect.
When deputies searched the residence of the suspects, approximately $17,000 worth of damaged or stolen property was recovered. The items consisted of an "array of personal property," including wallets, purses and ski equipment, Bridge said. He said investigators are in the process of reuniting the items with the proper owners.
The burglaries and vandalisms all took place on the night of May 30 and in the early morning hours of May 31. A majority of the cases occurred in Park City proper.
Bridge said it appears to be an isolated incident involving the suspects. He said there is no indication they are linked to any other burglaries in the county in the city.
