Public hearing about East Side code changes

The Summit County Council has scheduled a public hearing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the County Courthouse in Coalville. The hearing will cover the proposed changes to Chapter 4 of the Eastern Summit County Development Code.

The amendments include revisions to the lot of record, subdivision and parcel boundary adjustment processes, according to the county website. The changes also include the creation o fa new process for dividing lands for non-development purposes.

Volunteers needed for raptor survey

Volunteers are needed for the annual Raptor Inventory Nest Survey, which collects and manages data about the nesting ecology of the state’s eagles, falcons, hawks, osprey and owls. No science credentials are required of volunteers.

Training workshops will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, March 4, in Salt Lake City. A field training workshop is scheduled for March 11. A pair of binoculars, GPS unit, digital camera and email address are recommended for volunteers, who will be assigned area to monitor between March and July.
