According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to numerous calls between Monday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 25, including the following:
Sunday, Oct. 25
An unknown suspect keyed a silver SUV while it was parked on a Basin-area road. The family believes they are being targeted and have also reported incidents involving theft and criminal mischief.
A South Summit woman reported an assault that allegedly occurred two weeks ago. An investigation is ongoing.
When deputies stopped a vehicle on Interstate 80 for two traffic violations, they detected signs of marijuana. A K9 officer found more than five pounds of marijuana in a rear passenger door. The man was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail.
Saturday, Oct. 24
The president of a South Summit Homeowners Association reported a deer had been shot near another cabin. An investigation is ongoing.
Deputies responded to a domestic violence incident at a North Summit residence. The parties agreed to separate for the night and no citations were issued. The county attorney’s office will screen the case.
Deputies responded to a report of a suicidal male at a North Summit residence.
Friday, Oct. 23
Deputies arrested a man with an active Summit County warrant while he was working at a Kimball Junction-area business.
A temporary protective order was delivered to a man at a Kimball Junction-area hotel.
Deputies performed a welfare check on a man at a Basin-area residence.
Thursday, Oct. 22
Deputies responded to an incident involving a juvenile at a North Summit residence.
Deputies attempted to locate a reportedly suicidal male in the Kimball Junction-area. He was later found to be in the Salt Lake City-area.
Following a traffic stop on State Road 32, a driver was issued a warning and released. A passenger was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail for three active warrants.
An unknown suspect broke the rear window of a truck while it was parked at a Kimball Junction-area hotel and stole several thousand dollars worth of audio equipment.
A North Summit property owner reported a 1998 Polaris 500 camouflage ATV was stolen sometime between Sept. 26 and Oct. 3.
Wednesday, Oct. 21
A man reported that he was assaulted by another man at his Basin-area home. The case will be forwarded to the county attorney’s office.
Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious bus parked on a private North Summit property. The bus is described as red, white and blue with parts of the second amendment painted on both sides.
Tuesday, Oct. 20
An unknown suspect stole a 15-foot choker cable from the back of a truck, while it was parked at Home Depot.
Dispatch received a report of an active fire alarm at a North Summit building. Deputies and the North Summit Fire District responded and reset the alarm.
A Dodge pickup truck with a ‘For sale’ sign was stolen from a Kimball Junction-area parking lot.
Monday, Oct. 19
A Basin-area home owner reported that someone had shot his mailbox with what appeared to be a .22 caliber gun.
A former Summit County victim advocate who was facing a felony count of misusing public money pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lesser charge in a deal with prosecutors.
